The Mystery of Sexual Trap

I remember while growing up, we often set traps for grasscutters also known as bush meat. Those who grew up where there was farm or in rural areas can fully relate well with this kind of animals. 

We have a trap made from a used cylindrical tin of beverages. The cover is removed and replaced with another cylindrical tin beaten into a flat shape to form a cover. A wood is nailed to it like a hand fan and a rubber from unused broom is tied to it to make a spring like device. A small hole with a protruding nail is inserted at the base and affixed with a small sized cassava tuber as the bait.

This trap is usually placed in areas where they easily ply and latest two days after, an animal is taken in our trap. The bush meat is available to be smoked, skinned and feasted on. If you do not grow up in rural areas, you can't experience the delicacies of such inexpensive and scented meat.

Do you know that many singles who became victims of sexual immoralities and premarital sex were lured (trapped) into the act? Only very few did it as a result of their free will. 

For as many of you who would like to retain his or her sexual purity till the right time, you must avoid these baits often used to trap singles into sexual immoralities or premarital sex. They are...

1. Persuasion

No doubt that Samson was to be blamed for his arrest by the Philistines, but there was a trap which Delilah used on him.

Delilah employed persuasive words to get to the heart of Samson's secret. In her craftiness, she said to him, "How can you say, I love you when your heart is not with me"? She persuaded him until he told her all his heart. 

Be careful of guys that would persuade you to give them sex as a proof for love. Sexual immoralities usually start from persuasive plea to kissing, hugging and to engage in those 'normal' and unhurtful acts.

Guys, avoid ladies that would stoop so low to throw themselves at you for sex or who would persuade you to act as a man. There's power in persuasion. It'll soften the heart of every strong willed person unless they do the needful - flee.

Potiphar's wife too spoke to Joseph day by day to lie by her or to be with her. But thank God he hearkened not on the day 'konji' caught up with her that he fled the appearance of evil. 

2. Social media

No thanks to social media, it has done much harm than good. It has become a source where strangers meet and in no time they become acclaimed lovers overnight.

Beware of those you meet online whether they appear sincere, godly or honest; many don't have bad intentions at the onset but in the long run, emotional intimacy that breeds affection will well up between you two and this would lead to sexual immoralities or premarital sex. 

There are good people on SM but there are more wolves in sheep's clothing. Be careful of whom you seek academic or relationship advice from. There are sexual predators on SM who are hunting for naive girls to defile. Don't be quick to share your pictures even exchange phone numbers.

That friend you met on Social media could be a sexual trap to lure you into sexual sins. Anyone can fall into it but discipline, boundaries and the fear of God would be of great help. 

3. False care 

Another trap that gets many into sexual immoralities or premarital sex is false care. Ladies are usually victims of this. "He loves me and I love him is often their poem".

That the guy comes around to show you how caring, concerned or affectionate he is doesn't mean his intentions are genuine. Many are using this as a bait to get into your heart. Be careful! 

Don't be gullible or be too easy to be convinced by a display of false care. You can meet the right person on SM but don't be desperate. 

4. Intimidation

Another but powerful trap that gets many into sexual sins is intimidation. It almost worked on me when I was in the University. Because I had no girlfriend from year one to three, my friends set me up with a lady. To show that I'm confident in my ability, I wooed a lady but thank God it never lasted more than a week. 

You know why it never lasted? I'll keep it for another day!

Be careful of those who would talk you down because you're not in a relationship. Some would intimidate you by calling you an SU (scripture union, a term for those who are adjudged spiritual), a local girl or a boring guy. 

They would even tell you that you're living a triangular life (lecture - hostel - fellowship). Some would even tell you that you don't know how to toast a woman. Some would tell you as a lady that your breast is small because there's no guy in your life, be careful! 

Intimidation will set you up for destruction. It will expose you to a wild adventure that would even destroy your life beyond that of the intimidator. It's a trap!

Some would even tell you that you're not a man because you have not had sex or that you don't know what it feels like to be a woman. Don't be intimidated to prove a point otherwise you'll be trapped. 

Be sensitive. Sexual traps are real and many naive ones would still fall into it. Know the truth. Embrace the fear of God. Flee every appearance of evil!
