'DUTY OF A SOLDIER' (Shun Worldly Affairs)

"No man that wars entangles himself with the affairs of this life; that he may please him who has chosen him to be a soldier" - 2 Timothy 2:4

I have never seen a soldier who entangles himself with the affairs of a civilian. No, he must face the battle if he wants to win. Life is a battle. A child of God is a soldier who must fight some enemies that would prevent him of her from laying hold on eternal life.

You are not a Christian to end your race here on earth, you have a home faraway and there are enemies that would prevent you from going home.

There are three major things you must avoid as a soldier of Christ if you want to fight the good fight of faith and win. A soldier can't win a battle unless he focus more on the battle and keep his eyes off distractions.

The affairs of this world are categorized as the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes and the pride of life.

The lust of the flesh is what the flesh craves for and it easily manifest itself as the works of the flesh as listed in Galatians 5:19-21. If you don't mortify the deeds of your flesh, it'll keep raising it's ugly head at every given opportunity.

Any soldier of Christ that is a slave to his fleshy desire will become a casualty in the battlefield of life. The flesh lust after adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations (jealousy), wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings and so on.

Are the lust of the flesh not expressing itself in your life? It is when the deeds of the flesh have been mortified that you can live to please God.

And the only way to mortify the deeds of the flesh is to crucify it with Christ (Gal. 2:20). It takes the power of the Cross of Calvary to put to death the deeds of the flesh in your life.

Won't you rather cry out to God to deliver you from the lust of the flesh before it destroys you?

Knowing "When" to Enter Into a Relationship (Marriage)

Because man is a time-conscious being, he is most likely worried about getting certain things done at a specific period of his life. One of such things is the "When" to enter into a relationship.  There's a relationship leading to marriage and there's a relationship whose goal is never aimed at marriage.  Many young people have dabbled into a relationship at the wrong time with the aim of marriage, only to discover that they have wasted and destroyed their time, life and resources in such relationships because marriage was never intended.  There's time for everything under the heavens, says the Holy Writ. There's time to love, and there's time to refrain from embracing.  When you venture into a cause or thing at the wrong time, you're sure to have your fingers burnt or perhaps destroy yourself in the long run.  Do you know that no father would buy a car for his toddler son until the time appointed? And in a sane clime, no one dare to drive a car withou...

The Mystery Behind Wet Dreams

There's a mystery behind wet dream, it is simple, but sometimes complicated. It's simple in the sense that a sexually inactive mature man may sometimes experience wet dreams which is biologically called nocturnal emission - a process whereby men experience an ejaculation of semen during the night.  Sperms has limited days in which they can last in the human body and new ones needs to be produced. Unused sperms within 21 days are reabsorbed in the body.  It is possible for females too to experience nocturnal orgasm or wet dreams - a sexual arousal during sleep that awakens them to perceive the experience of an orgasm. All of these, both male and female experiences of wet dreams are sometimes related to having sex in the dream.  So, if you haven't had sex for years, it's likely that you might have wet dreams. Don't be scared, it's a normal development that occurs in your body. But when it happens within days and weeks repeatedly, two things are ...

Why Dating Isn't Ok

Dating to several people means different things but one general meaning accorded to it is a non-platonic relationship that exist between the opposite sex. Dating, has become a popular act people practice to know whom their potential marital partner would be. It's a term that stems out from the western world and has crept into the Christian faith. They indulge in romance and later graduate to sexual immoralities with the aim of knowing whom to marry. Does God categorically stated it in His word that He hates dating? Nay! But there are pointers to it in His word. I'd humbly suggest that you unlearn all the self-help principles you have learnt when it comes to choosing a life partner and learn it the God's way so that you can get the God-kind of result. Why does God hate it? 1. It exposes you to the evil men and women do for 'love' sake Because the heart is evil and desperately wicked, dating a man or woman can't mak...
