What a tragedy!
The world we live in has made it look like there's nothing wrong with sex before marriage since everyone appears to be doing it. Christians who ought to know best are doing it and unbelievers likewise aren't spared from this evil.
Before you venture into anything in life, always ask yourself these questions: what does human and divine laws says about it? Is it beneficial? What are the side effects?
Hear me, scientists do not create sex. You do not create likewise. God created sex and He gave man the instinct to have it. He also gave man the right atmosphere where he can use it unreservedly - marriage. That you have feelings for sexual intimacy doesn't make you abnormal but it's worse when you dance to the tune of your feelings.
The word 'illicit' means unlawful and it's not approved by law. If scientists, legislators or the world legalize premarital sex, it doesn't mean God has changed His standard concerning it. That you yield yourself to sex before marriage doesn't mean God understands, you're only ignorant of what's at stake.
What's at stake after every illicit sex?
You can't tolerate premarital or extramarital sex and your life will remain the same. Never! To virgins, the hymen is broken, they feel used and the guilt of having it at the wrong time sets in. To non-virgins, you'll keep exposing yourself to sexual and spiritual transmitted diseases.
However, the major tragedy is that your life becomes reduced to a piece of bread. What does a piece of bread means in relation to your life and influence?
A loaf of bread cannot satisfy anyone and it's useless to whoever consumes it. Illicit sex reduces a man's influence, impact and destiny. After every sexual act, something is missing, something is reduced and something is introduced.
What misses after illicit sex?
You'll miss your menstrual period, a good news for the married and woe for the unmarried. You miss your chances of becoming used by God if you don't desist and He'll replace you. You'll miss your intimacy with God, you'll start all over again and the devil will torment you with guilt and condemnation.
The human body obeys the laws of diminishing returns. Every sexual act reduces the firmness of your body. You breast muscles becomes weak due to 'aggressive' or 'sensual' caressing, your penis loses its flaccidity. Your body wears faster and your beauty wanes quickly.
The use of virginal tighter, push up bras, penis enlargement pumps, cosmetics, breast pads and the likes are simply vanity upon vanity. Ladies are usually at the receiving end. Allowing several Dick into your Harry and numerous hands to squeeze your chest region is a destruction of your body which you'd have monotonously enjoyed with the right partner.
More so, your lifespan is reduced. Instead of living longer to fulfill all that God has destined you to be, you'll be cut short in the prime of your days.
Our bodies as humans is the temple of God. Illicit sex allows the invasion of demons into your body as you become one flesh (spirit, soul and body) with whoever is demon possessed. No amount of contraceptives can prevent it. Medically, your health suffers illness as you'd contact sexually transmitted diseases. Psychologically, guilt, shame and condemnation comes into your mind. Emotionally, you'll be having intense cravings for more sex because your wall of self-control has been broken.
Am I writing this to scare you? No! A father who loves his son will tell him the whole truth without mincing words. God loves you this is why He wants you to read this. Abstinence is possible. Being celibate till marriage has no consequences at all. Every illicit sexual affairs always have an effect.
Samson would have done more remarkable feats in his youthful life and at old age if not for his looseness with women. What do you think would have become of Joseph if he had allowed a one-time sexual pleasure with his master's wife? There are many Josephs whose destinies has been reduced and have now become prisoners and slaves of sexual pleasure.
They are now roaming the streets without making any impact to their generation but constituting nuisance to their generation. They have become the reason why Jesus weeps the second time and why God lament for creating them.
Dear reader, there are lives attached to your destiny. Many wants to read your book and be blessed. Many needs to hear you preach, sing, be encouraged. God wants to work in you, through you and with you so that those destinies can find comfort, hope and bearing in life. Don't allow illicit sex reduce and destroy God's glory and your potential positive influence in your generation.
Have you missed it in the past? There's a God of second chance (Acts 17:30) who will forgive you if you tearfully repent (2 Cor. 7:10) and return no more to your vomit. Don't listen to the voice of the devil that tells you that you're empty and good-for-nothing. Rise up from where you fell. Look up to Jesus. Hold on to Him and like the prodigal son, come back to Him.
There's tragedy after every illicit sexual affairs but there’s 'melody' when it's done lawfully and in the right place.
